Dumbrava server

The server started as an alternative support to professional graphic people and stil it is. Maybe someone still remember, the server name was: Zamolxis. Since then has grown along with MAC platform.
Our server is open to all Mac lovers no matter from where you are although are some rules to be observed.

Dumbrava server, runs on kdx net, and is open to Romanian Mac funs, in an effort to publicize Mac OS X computing in Romania.

Contributor

The first step on getting a membership is to be a contributor. Being a contributor simply means you have a file to offer which isn't already present on server or you can contribute to develop and help grow server/site trough your knowledge as Web Master, SEO or other. Are not accepted files Win, games, mp3, mov, porn, stock or archives, old and crap files. You should contact the administration which files you can upload and if you receive a positive reply, you'll receive a temporary 3 months membership. Once you receive your membership on Dumbrava server, please register as a member on Members Area as well. Is in your interest to sign up because only from Members Area we'll take in consideration requests for technical support and only members who sign up in Members Area will have confirmed the membership on Dumbrava server after the 3 months trial period.

Advanced contributor

Some of you out there on the net are talented people with knowledge on js, vb, php, perl. If you want to give us a hand, in developing this site and server, you can have membership for life. Please contact us.

I have uploaded the file(s) con-corded with the administration and received a 3 months temporary membership.
1. Why is necessary a trial period membership?
2. I have to upload other files?
3. How do I keep my membership?

1. During the trial period, your membership is monitored. We do not like to see a member staying connected most of the time for the only purpose to download/copy all server files. Your membership is intended to have access to download what ever you need but not to copy all files in-discriminated.
2. No. Once you receive your membership even if is temporary, you are not bound to upload files.
3. To keep your membership, the rules are fairly simple and are of good sense. When you connect to server, read the news board for eventually announcements made by administration, check your personal folder for the same reason, connect to the server at least once a month. Inactive accounts will be deleted.

Good standing membership

Is not mandatory to upload files but of course we count on our members to upload new files. When you upload, be sure the file is in accord with the server policy. Use the search command to see if the file isn't already on server. All files uploaded must be compressed preferably in zip format. You can use MAC OS build command to compress in archive zip.
Suppose you upload a little known utility app. In this case, use command+I to open Get Info window box and type some basic info on what it does this utility. If you upload Adobe file, of course is not necessary to give any info. However in Get Info box, you should type all info you might have regarding s/n, hacks, warnings etc.
If you are an active Member, and need a specific file not available on our server, ask for it and we'll do our best to find it in the shortest possible time trough our net and affiliates. In that case you must be very specific on giving file name, version, publisher.
Being an active member, you can keep it for life. Not only but as a member, you can sponsor a new member.
Not following these basic rules, your membership can be deleted without notification .

Becoming Administrator

If you want help it grow our site/server, we'll be glad to give you a partial or full administration position that deped on you. However first you must show us, you are an active member.
